About DonorsChoose

DonorsChoose is an education nonprofit ensuring every US public school student has the classroom resources they need to learn, grow, and thrive.

Founded by a teacher in 2000, DonorsChoose connects educators with a nationwide community of supporters who believe investing in students today will transform tomorrow. Educators request the materials they know their students need, and donors can choose the classroom, community, or cause they want to support. Since our founding, donors have supported 90% of US public schools. Every request is vetted, resources are delivered to classrooms, and donors can see the impact of their support through transparent reporting and updates from students and teachers. Raising $1.9 billion for classrooms, DonorsChoose has earned top ratings from Charity Navigator, GuideStar, and CharityWatch for its transparency, trust, and impact. Our dedicated team works from across the United States to turn resources into opportunities for students and teachers.

About the Finance Team

The Finance, IT, & Procurement team provides the infrastructure and stewardship that keep DonorsChoose financially strong, technologically enabled, and focused on getting resources into classrooms. The team manages the day-to-day finances while shaping long-term strategies, ensures our distributed workforce has the technology and systems to work seamlessly, and manages vendor relationships. Together, these functions turn financial resources into tangible materials in the hands of teachers and students.

About the Role

DonorsChoose is seeking a tactical, collaborative Strategic Finance Director who will report to the VP, Finance & Accounting.  You will work closely with senior leaders to provide insights that drive growth, optimize resource allocation, shape cash and margin decisions, and enhance financial performance across the organization. This is a highly cross-functional role for someone who thrives at the intersection of financial analysis and strategic decision-making.  We are looking for candidates who have deep scenario planning and modeling experience – who are able to analyze financial data, build financial models, generate financial forecasts and play a key role in driving business decisions.

About a third of your time will be dedicated towards budgeting, forecasting, and month-end reporting activities as needed while maintaining primary focus on strategic finance and decision support.

Success in this role requires equal parts analytical rigor, curiosity, creativity, and business judgment. You’ll build sophisticated financial models from scratch, pressure-test assumptions, synthesize information from multiple sources, and communicate recommendations that help leaders make better decisions. You’ll thrive if you enjoy moving between spreadsheets and strategy conversations and are equally comfortable diving into the details and presenting the story behind the numbers.

Responsibilities

Financial Modeling & Business Analysis:

  • Build and maintain a 3-statement financial model for budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, scenario analysis, and net asset impacts
  • Independently develop ROI analyses and cost-benefit frameworks that shape prioritization decisions and track the end-to-end lifecycle of initiatives from investment through post-launch impact measurement
  • Influence decision-making across senior leaders with actionable financial insights to solve key business challenges and position our organization for growth
  • Partner across the organization to evaluate deal economics, optimize margins, and improve efficiency
  • Communicate  executive-ready analyses, dashboards, and Board materials that translate complex financial information into meaningful business insights

Budget & Forecast Management:

  • Lead critical FP&A processes, including annual budgeting process, recurring forecasts, month-end reporting, and preparation of financial reporting for senior leadership and Board presentations

  • Improve and automate FP&A processes, systems, and reporting as the company scales by using modern tooling (including AI-enabled solutions) to improve speed and accuracy

  • Guide senior leaders on resource allocation and strategic decisions, occasionally presenting at leadership meetings and playing a critical role in influencing change across cross-functional workstreams

  • Manage vendor renewal calendars and ensure no material contracts auto-renew without review

Special Projects:

  • Support the build-out of an internal procurement process, one that establishes a centralized function for spend management, contract reviews, vendor selection, and purchasing process.
  • Own mission-critical initiatives such as an updated pricing strategy to optimize our margins

Qualifications

  • Have 8+ years of related work experience in strategic finance, FP&A, corporate development, management consulting, investment banking, private equity, accounting, or another discipline responsible for financial forecasts and analysis
  • Enjoy turning ambiguity into structured analysis and actionable recommendations.
  • Build trusted relationships across functions and know how to influence without formal authority.
  • Have built sophisticated financial models from scratch—not simply maintained existing models.
  • Are naturally curious, ask thoughtful questions, and are comfortable challenging assumptions with data and sound judgment.
  • Communicate complex financial concepts in ways that help non-finance leaders make informed decisions.
  • Problem solver who is comfortable diving into complex scenarios
  • Balance confidence with humility—you have a point of view but remain open to new information and perspectives.
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable embracing new systems and tools
  • Care deeply about education and share our organization’s commitment to racial and economic equity in America’s public schools
  • Experience working with Adaptive Insights or another cloud-based financial planning software
  • Comfortable with intermediate Excel/Google Sheet functions (pivot tables, lookup functions, graphs/tables)

Level Expectations

The Strategic Finance Director will independently lead complex analytical work that influences organizational financial strategy and executive decision-making. They own sophisticated financial modeling efforts, develop recommendations with limited direction, and regularly partner with senior leaders across the organization.

While this role does not include direct people management responsibilities, the Strategic Finance Director is expected to exercise significant independent judgment, influence cross-functional decisions through expertise and credibility, and raise the overall quality of strategic financial thinking across DonorsChoose.

Successful team members take work nearly to completion independently, seek thoughtful input at key decision points, and communicate recommendations with clarity, confidence, and sound business judgment.

Finance Financial Planning & Analysis at Stedi

FP&A professional builds financial models, forecasts, and strategic analyses while automating financial processes and leveraging modern tools to support company growth and decision-making.

Senior Posted 6 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

We’re building a new healthcare clearinghouse

Stedi is the only headless clearinghouse and RCM engine. Headless means every part of our product is accessible via API. Developers and AI agents build their own interface on top of it. By offering modern, AI-ready APIs alongside traditional real-time and batch EDI processes, we enable both healthcare technology businesses and established players to exchange mission-critical transactions. Our clearinghouse product and customer-first approach have set us apart. Stedi was ranked by Ramp as one of the fastest-growing SaaS vendors.

Stedi has lightning in a bottle: engineers and designers shipping products week in and week out; a lean business team supporting the company’s infrastructure; a passion for automation and eliminating toil; and $142 million in funding from top investors like Stripe, Addition, USV, Bloomberg Beta, First Round Capital, and more.

To see what we ship, watch the 2026 Stedi Keynote. To learn more about how we work, watch our founder Zack’s interview with First Round Capital.

What we’re looking for

We’re hiring an experienced FP&A professional to raise the bar for business operations as Stedi enters its next stage of growth. You will build upon our existing models, metrics, and systems to deepen our understanding of the business, improve the accuracy and sophistication of our forecasts, and ensure our financial infrastructure scales with the company. You will report to the Head of Finance & Operations and work closely with our CEO and leaders across the company.

You will do more than operate existing FP&A processes or drive standard budgeting work. You will develop a deep understanding of how the business operates and use that foundation to tackle difficult strategic financial and operational questions. We have a high bar for accuracy and trust in our financial reporting, and you will be expected to understand the numbers from the source data through the final output.

We also expect you to aggressively leverage technology, looking for opportunities to automate manual work, improve how financial data flows, and use modern tools and AI to make our forecasting and analysis faster, more reliable, and more scalable.

The ideal candidate combines exceptional financial and analytical rigor with a builder’s mindset. You should be equally comfortable tracing a number back to its source, designing a model from scratch, and taking a difficult, ambiguous business question and turning it into rigorous analysis. If you care deeply about understanding the drivers of a business, translating them into rigorous models and forecasts, and building systems that become more powerful and trustworthy as the company scales, this role will provide meaningful ownership and impact.

What you’ll do

  • Own and continuously improve Stedi’s company financial model, including revenue, expenses, headcount, cash, and long-range forecasting

  • Build the metrics, models, and reporting infrastructure we use to understand business performance, with a high bar for accuracy, consistency, and traceability to underlying data

  • Own our annual planning and ongoing forecasting processes, developing assumptions and models that reflect how the business actually operates rather than relying on static or top-down forecasts

  • Develop reporting and analysis that clearly explains performance against plan, including the underlying drivers of revenue growth, gross margin, operating expenses, and cash

  • Partner closely with Accounting to digest monthly results and relevant accounting considerations, comparing projections to actuals and translating performance into reliable management reporting, forecasts, and models

  • Build models to answer difficult strategic questions across the business, including customer and product economics, pricing, gross margin, infrastructure costs, investment decisions, and long-range growth scenarios

  • Own headcount and spend planning across the company, ensuring our forecasts accurately reflect hiring plans, commitments, and other expected investments

  • Develop and maintain cash and runway forecasts that give leadership a clear view into our capital needs under a range of operating scenarios

  • Automate financial data collection, reporting, and analysis wherever possible, using modern tooling and AI to eliminate manual work and improve the speed and reliability of our financial systems

  • Work directly with the Head of Finance & Operations and CEO on financial analysis for major company decisions, board discussions, and other high-priority strategic questions

Who you are

  • You have 4+ years of experience across FP&A, strategic finance, investment banking, private equity, consulting, or similarly rigorous analytical roles, including meaningful experience operating inside a high-growth startup

  • You have exceptional financial modeling skills and can independently build a model from raw inputs through a decision-ready output

  • You understand the relationship between financial statements and operating metrics and can connect the underlying mechanics of the business to financial performance, and accurate forecasts and analysis

  • You are highly technical for a finance professional. You look for opportunities to automate workflows, work directly with underlying data, and use modern tools and AI to build financial systems that are faster, more reliable, and less dependent on manual processes

  • You can independently take an ambiguous strategic question, determine what actually matters, structure the analysis, and develop a rigorous answer

  • You communicate complex financial analysis clearly. You can explain not only what changed, but why it changed, what matters, and what we should take away from it

  • You thrive in ambiguity, create structure from chaos, and can independently design scalable processes and systems from scratch

  • You are relentless and resourceful. When something doesn’t reconcile or an answer doesn’t make sense, you keep going until you understand why

  • You move fast and operate with precision. You thrive in an environment where clarity, accountability, and urgency matter

We’ve been made aware of individuals impersonating the Stedi recruiting team. Please note:

  • All official communication about roles at Stedi will only come from an @ stedi.com email address, or from our official identification verification partner, Persona, @frompersona.com.

  • If you’re unsure whether a message is legitimate or have any concerns, feel free to contact us directly at careers@stedi.com .

We appreciate your attention to this and your interest in joining Stedi.

At Stedi, we’re looking for people who are deeply curious and aligned to our ways of working. You’re encouraged to apply even if your experience doesn’t perfectly match the job description.

We’re proud to be backed by world-class investors who share that vision, including Bessemer Venture Partners, Index Ventures, Spark Capital, Stripes, and Mastercard, along with many others.

We’re a team of 170+ across 26 states and 7 countries, headquartered in New York City.

We are hiring a Senior Risk Associate to run Lithic’s risk assessment function: the client risk assessment program, the third party risk management program, and the enterprise risk assessment. You will execute the assessments, own the operations that keep them on schedule and defensible, and continuously improve the rubrics, questionnaires, registers, and SOPs that govern them. You will also own program underwriting: the criteria, limit and reserve recommendations, and periodic reassessment that follow a client from diligence through scale.

This is an AI-forward role. Lithic is deploying agentic tooling across diligence and documentation workflows, and this role owns that build in the assessment domain: testing, tuning, and documenting the tooling so routine collection, review, and drafting are absorbed by automation, while you own the judgment calls, the exceptions, and the written product that goes to partner banks and examiners.

This role operates with limited guidance and owns its programs end to end. It is sized for ownership, orchestration, and judgment rather than queue/ticket processing.

What You’ll Do

  • Execute client risk assessments end to end: document collection, interviews, scoring against the weighted risk typologies, written assessment, tier determination, and pre-launch conditions.
  • Own program underwriting: apply and maintain underwriting criteria, recommend spend, transfer, and reserve limits, and reassess programs as volume, product mix, and financial condition change.
  • Run third party risk operations: vendor intake and tiering, due diligence and certification report review, control effectiveness ratings, the vendor risk register, annual reviews, and vendor issue and incident tracking.
  • Support the enterprise risk assessment and the risk register: maintain the assessment inventory and calendar, collect and test control evidence, apply the enterprise rating methodology consistently across sub-assessments, and prepare Enterprise Risk Committee materials.
  • Continuously improve the programs: refine rubrics, weights, questionnaires, and templates based on observed outcomes, and author and maintain the SOPs that make each assessment repeatable by someone other than you.
  • Test, deploy, and tune agentic tooling across the assessment workflows, including document review, questionnaire analysis, vendor due diligence, and drafting, and document the context that makes the output repeatable and defensible.
  • Define and report the KPIs and KRIs for the assessment programs, and surface concentration, trend, and thematic findings to leadership and oversight forums.
  • Serve as the evidence owner for partner bank, audit, and examiner requests touching client, third party, and enterprise risk assessment.
  • Mentor and cross-train teammates on assessment methodology, scoring discipline, and the tooling.

What You’ll Bring

  • Hands-on experience conducting risk assessments in fintech, payments, or banking, across client or counterparty, third party or vendor, and enterprise or operational risk.
  • Working knowledge of underwriting fundamentals: financial statement review, liquidity and runway analysis, loss and exposure monitoring, and limit setting.
  • Fluency with rubric-based scoring methodologies and the discipline to apply them consistently and defend a rating.
  • A track record of owning discrete risk programs end to end with limited guidance, including authoring the SOPs and defining the metrics that govern them.
  • Ability to read control reports (ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II, PCI DSS AOC) and translate findings into a residual risk position and a remediation ask.
  • Comfort working with AI-assisted or agentic tooling, including how to test, tune, document, and defend AI-assisted decisions to bank partners and regulators
  • Self-starter who can create structure where none exists and knows when to escalate and collaborate
  • Clear, concise writing under a compliance standard: assessments, memos, and committee materials that hold up in front of a partner bank or an examiner.

The annual US salary range for this role is $86,000 - $144,000, plus equity. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Lithic and will be narrowed during the interview process based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

Finance Sr. Product Accounting Manager at FinQuery, Formerly LeaseQuery

Senior Product Accounting Manager translates complex accounting standards into software requirements and partners with product/engineering teams to ensure accurate financial systems.

Senior Posted 7 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

FinQuery stands at the forefront of accounting automation, driven by a deep specialty in contract-driven accounting. Our AI-enabled platform transforms how controllers and finance teams operate, seamlessly managing and accounting for the complex financial contracts—like leases, prepaids, and accruals—that are the backbone of modern business. We are not just a software provider; we are the unified subledger that eliminates time-intensive, error-prone technical accounting workflows, ensuring financial reports are accurate and empowering our customers to focus on strategic, high-value tasks.

FinQuery is the global leader in lease accounting (as recognized on G2.com) and serve more than 8,500 customers worldwide. Our growth trajectory has been consistently validated by the Inc 5000, which has recognized us as one of the fastest-growing private companies for five consecutive years.

Solve the Problems That Matter Most:

The Senior Product Accounting Manager is a technical accounting expert embedded within FinQuery’s Product Accounting team, responsible for translating complex accounting standards into sound software requirements and supporting the product development lifecycle from research through release. This role partners closely with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Sales to ensure FinQuery’s software reflects accurate, defensible interpretations of applicable accounting frameworks across its product portfolio. The Senior Product Accounting Manager brings deep technical accounting expertise and proficiency with AI-enabled research workflows to a cross-functional environment where accounting judgment directly shapes product decisions.

Reports to: VP, Accounting Standards & Advocacy

Please note: This position is strictly accounting-focused; applicants must possess the required technical accounting experience to be considered.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Be the accounting expert inside Product. Partner with product engineers, engineers, designers, and QA to translate US GAAP, IFRS, GASB, and applicable international frameworks into software requirements, example scenarios, and test cases that hold up under scrutiny across FinQuery’s growing product portfolio.

  • Research and rule. Tackle ambiguous accounting questions escalated from teams across the organization, and make the call. Document your reasoning so the next person doesn’t have to redo the work.

  • Stay ahead of the standard-setters. Monitor publications, webinars, and emerging guidance from FASB, IASB, the FRC, GASB, and accounting firms across US, UK, and additional markets as FinQuery expands. Brief Product and leadership before guidance becomes a problem, not after.

  • Build the accounting foundation for new products. As FinQuery expands its platform, you’ll develop the example scenarios, edge case documentation, and requirements that establish sound accounting coverage for net new product areas.

  • Use AI as a force multiplier and govern it. You’ll lean on large language models to accelerate research, draft documentation, and pressure-test interpretations. You’ll also be one of the people responsible for making sure AI-generated accounting content is right before it goes anywhere near a customer.

  • Talk to customers. Join prospect and customer calls, articulate and defend how the software handles complex accounting scenarios, and bring real-world feedback back to the product team.

  • Teach the company. Write customer bulletins for the Knowledge Base, brief leadership on emerging guidance, and explain accounting concepts to people who have never reconciled a thing in their lives.

  • Test what we ship. Validate new accounting features end-to-end and drive anomalies through to resolution.

  • Mentor. Bring junior team members along. Make the people around you better.

The Expertise You’ll Bring:

  • Deep knowledge of corporate debt structures and accounting treatments, with specific expertise in navigating complex debt arrangements typical of private equity (PE)-backed companies

  • Deep knowledge of US GAAP with the ability to translate standards into plain language for non-accounting audiences

  • Working knowledge of IFRS and international frameworks preferred, with GASB experience as a plus

  • Ability to research technical accounting guidance independently and produce documented conclusions

  • Proficiency with AI tools and LLMs, including effective prompt writing and critical output evaluation

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across technical, executive, and customer-facing audiences

  • Ability to lead cross-functional working groups and influence outcomes without direct authority

  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent research and project workstreams independently

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required, with an advanced degree preferred

  • Active CPA license required

Finance Sr. Product Accounting Manager at FinQuery, Formerly LeaseQuery

Senior technical accounting expert who translates accounting standards into software requirements and guides product development across lease accounting and financial reporting platforms.

  • Four to six years of progressive experience in Big 4 audit/assurance or senior corporate accounting

  • Extensive background in technical accounting research, documentation, and standard application
